Robert J. Dulo

Author

Florence Township, New Jersey, USA

Robert (Bob) Dulo is a retired engineer who worked for several large corporations and lived/operated his business in New Jersey. He started the business initially for building equity to purchase a business but, as often happens, life got in the way. He continued operating the business building equity and taking advantage of the tax deductions afforded by running the business. At a young age, he became handy at house repairs by observing his father who was a “jack-of-all-trades” and by watching “How To” programs on TV (i.e.: “This Old House”). These skills helped greatly in the operation of the business by making appropriate repairs and improvements in his properties. He became involved in local politics to became familiar with local regulations regarding rental properties and worked closely with local inspectors to ensure compliance with appropriate inspections. He also did significant research in State and local regulations and obtained numerous leases from previous rentals and through retailers such as Office Depot and Staples. Because of his experience, he was appointed as one of seven Housing Commissioners for a local Federal Housing Authority overseeing its operations. He operated the business for over 30 years and gained further experience along the way. He modified his practices/leases as needed from changes to regulations and experiences within the business. He wrote this book to share his experiences and help others start a similar business.
